SENSIndoor meets up for the final spurt

As the project is moving towards its end, the SENSIndoor consortium met up for the 5^th Progress Meeting in Saarbrücken, Germany, on June 21^st – 22^nd 2016. The actual status quo of the project and the upcoming tasks were discussed to make sure everything will be successfully finished within the remaining six months of the project. SENSIndoor coordinator Andreas Schütze highlighted that “we are now in the stage of making improvements. We can proudly say that we have achieved the basic goals of the project and we are able to use the remaining time to refine and field test our technology”.

The meeting was characterised by a strong focus on planning for the field test campaign and on dissemination activities, which become increasingly important as the project is generating more and more tangible results. The members reflected the successful presentation at the SENSOR + TEST fair in Nuremberg and are currently working on several joint publications and further dissemination events, e.g. special sessions at Indoor Air 2016, Ghent, July 7, and at EUROSENSORS XXX, Budapest, September 7. On top of this, the meeting offered a perfect stage for the production of the SENSIndoor film. A professional film team interviewed several SENSIndoor members and used the backdrop of the meeting to create an authentic picture of the team. The film will soon be available on the SENSIndoor website.

But the SENSIndoor team would not be the SENSIndoor team if it were not looking into the future already. The consortium discussed future applications of their technology and business markets that are yet to emerge. With all its spirit and ideas, the meeting had a small fly in the ointment. The partners agreed that they will miss their cooperation since it proved to be inspiring, harmonic and efficient. Everybody agreed that SENSIndoor should not be the last project they shared together.

SENSIndoor will meet for a final meeting in mid-November and will offer a public session on November 15^th - 16^th 2016 in this context, again in Saarbrücken. For more information, please stay in touch!
